Scott R. Burleigh, CPA

Scott joined Budwitz & Meyerjack in 1995 after 3 years with a smaller, local firm. He has been a partner since 2007. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. He grew up in Southington, CT where he still resides with his wife, Jill. Scott and Jill have been married since 1997 and have raised two wonderful children, Jessica and Zachary.

Scott works with closely held businesses and not for profit organizations, dealing with a variety of auditing, accounting, financial and tax issues. He works with a broad range of clients, including manufacturers, physicians, charitable organizations, municipal utilities and other not-for-profit organizations. The size of these clients range from small sole proprietorships to multi-million dollar corporations.

Outside of the office, Scott is an avid runner, completing multiple marathons and half marathons. He also enjoys golf, the beach, traveling and spending time with his family. In 2007, he and Jill helped found The Mill Foundation for Kids, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting sick children and their families by donating toys and money to local children’s hospitals and families affected by childhood illnesses. The Foundation has raised almost $1,000,000 since it’s inception. Scott has also served as Treasurer of the Arc of Southington and has volunteered delivering meals for the Southington Food Pantry.

Scott is a member of the Connecticut Society of CPA’s and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
