Michael J. Alfieri, CPA

Michael is a principal with the firm with 35 years of experience. He provides audit, accounting, and tax consulting services to closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Michael is a designated industry specialist in not-for-profit accounting and auditing, including Federal and State single audits and other nonprofit agencies. Another area of specialization is audits of employee benefit plans, including health and wellness plans and other retirement plans. During his public accounting career, Michael has consulted on tax strategies for business sales, mergers, and acquisitions, and business succession plans for closely held businesses under a variety of tax structures. He has also aided many small to medium size businesses with the implementation and transition of accounting systems and software.

Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. Michael’s professional activities include serving as a past member of the Continuing Professional Education Committee of the Connecticut society of CPA’s. Michael has served as a director of a community bank, held the position of audit chair, as well as serving on the loan committee. He has also been a member of the Southington Lions Club and has served on the board of directors and held the position of Treasurer.

Michael’s interests include golfing, hiking, and skiing and all summer activities at the beach. Additionally he also enjoys spending time with family and friends.
